Steps To Maximize Client Referrals

When an attorney opens a practice, in most cases they expect that it is only through advertising and marketing that they can get clients. Most attorneys over the years have spent tens of thousands in branding and other forms of marketing but still fall short in getting new business to their practice to make it thrive. Most attorneys have over the years accepted that the single best new client is one that has been referred to the firm by other clients who have had a great experience and great client-oriented service with the attorney. So how can an attorney maximize client referrals?

How To Generate More Referrals
By far the most popular and effective method of referrals is word of mouth. One client who has had a good experience with the firm tells other people about the product or service that the business is offering. So how to get this, provide excellent client-orientated service. Even if they do not win (hey, it does happen sometimes) most clients will recognize the amount of hard work and dedication you put into their case. How can one get the best out of the referrals?

Serving Your Clients
All the best referrals out there start with how well the clients who come to the firm get treated. This may seem common sense but surprisingly this is often overlooked. Watch out for staff interaction with the client. It may tank your client’s overall experience when they have a bad interaction with your staff. Remember, great client service starts from the top up and you most lead the way, set the example, and manage your staff effectively to ensure the highest standard of service is met.

Remind the Clients
The last part of the process to anyone who really wants the referrals should be to remind the clients to refer you to the people like them who may be in need of your services. Remind the clients politely at the end of the case to refer the business.

Conclusion
Referrals have always been the best way that any given practice will get new business to come their way. By applying good client service to one’s business will almost definitely ensure the referrals keep trickling in. But one part alone can’t ensure that, good client service must be accompanied by continuous reminding of the clients to refer the business as well as recognizing and thanking the clients who refer the business.
